3 Historical & Cultural Heritage of Taipei City

If you plan or decide to visit Taiwan, here is my recommendation these 3 most famous and interesting spots you shouldn't miss out around Taipei city.


The National CKS Memorial Hall - is Taiwan famous monument and it was built for remembrance the memory of their former great president, Chiang Kai-Shek. Located at the heart of the Taipei city, CKS Memorial Hall has become the landmark of Taipei City.

Memorial Hall consists of four sides which were made from white marbles while the octagonal roof is made out of blue glazed tiles.

See, the memorial hall is extremely far from where I was standing. We were given only 10 minutes to strolling around this place or I can said being given 10 minutes to have a pee...

There are even locations for international art performances. Situated right in front of the entrance, those are the National Theater and National Concert Hall.

We were given no extra minutes and even a few seconds to sight what's located inside the memorial hall because our local tour guide was seems to be in the hurry to the next destination. Maybe we were almost out of schedule on that day due to the heavy traffic jam and you know what - it was Christmas day when we arrived Taipei city. Guess have to use to it when it comes to public holiday.


Move on the next destination was the Martyr Shrine Taipei. It is a shrine built to to commemorate soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during the Sino-Japanese war and the Chinese Civil war.

Mistake #1: Please forgive me, I don't mean to pose in this way.

Mistake #2: I really never realise until recently when editing the photo.

One of the main highlight you shouldn't miss out when visiting this scenic spot be the performance of the changing guards.

You got to salute these guards. They are being trained well and they can eventually stand still like expressionless statues. Do respect them too by don't get too close or even touching them. Similar to the guard at the Buckingham Palace, London.


Then, we're heading to a museum this time around and I seems to quite fancy this kind of museum, not like the one in my previous post (here).

Apparently it sounds to be exhibition of the palace but it is actually an art museum where exhibits a fine collection of priceless Chinese art treasures.. Unfortunately, phototaking is prohibited within the exhibition hall. Too bad!!!

So, this is one and only photo I can take. Damn! I hate my chubby looks :(

Although I don't have any knowledge regarding the Chinese history, I do enjoy watching every collection in this museum. It is a place you must go if you want an exploration on cultural heritage and cilization of the ancient Chinese.

Taiwan Day 5

Date of Visited: 24th December 2010

The first place we're heading to was Museum of Taiwai Hinoki.

Well, I guess it was written wrongly. Apparently, suppose to be "Taiwan" but being written as "Taiwai". At this museum, everything is made out from Cypress, Taiwan's world famous wood. Cypress is known to be an exceptionally stable and durable wood that can last long up to thousand years. For further information, you may click here to find out what is Cypress about.

Honestly to say that I have no any idea of the wood because I was not really quite interested with it. Let's the photo (as usual) do the talk.

Next, we proceed on to Sun Moon Lake and Wen Wu Temple.

Then, Chung Tai Chan Monastery.

And finally, as usual went to the Night Market before heading back to the hotel for a nice and wonderful sleeping beauty sleep.

The night market is located nearby the hotel that we stayed. Even though on the night we arrived, it was Christmas eve night but it seems to be that area is so isolated and so quiet. I guess maybe most of them are heading to Taipei. What a silent night?

Groupon Is Coming...

Finally, what I wish for will be turns into reality soon.

I ever talked about these in here:

• Foods and cuisine - Can't deny that they really give a very good deals for this part.
  
• Tours and accommodation.
• Cinema movie tickets
• No idea at this moment because keep thinking when will they officially open in Sabah :P (Any idea for those in Sabah?)

Not only Sabahan will enjoy this, but to those in Sarawak too :D

Pray hard that the deals they will be offering soon will be what I'm looking forward to. Hopefully.

Foodie Friday: T-Bowl & Sushi Zanmai

Maybe these two seems not a new and extraordinary dining place for you to satisfy your hunger, but for a East Malaysian like me who just came back to KL recently after left KL for almost 3 years, it is a new dining place for me to have a try and discover their foods. Everyone likes to try new things, right?


So, last week TTM aka my boyfie came to KL to pay me a visit. Happy to the MAX!!! Since at KK there we do not have any concept of this lifestyle cafe and I missed out when visited Taiwan last year, hence I suggest to have a dinner here.

The restaurant / cafe designed base on the bathroom concept - A toilet bowl as the seat whereas the basin as the dining table.

His order: Chinese Mambo Rice

Hers order: Minced Pork Rice and came along

With a set menu: A drink, a soup and a dessert. Even the mini toilet bowls served as the food bowl.

A mean is incomplete without ordering their signature dessert. Mix flavour Ice-cream that similar to your s**t.

Overall, we were satisfied with the foods. Nothing much to shout about and nothing much to complaint about. However, they need to improve their staff services towards the customers because one of the lady who served us, seems like "masam muka".


Thanks to TTM for this treat. :) Hey, I'm not always asking for the treat, ok! We take turns to treat each other. In my opinion, I think the ladies should treat their boyfriend sometimes and not always asking for the guys to pay on your behalf unless you are gold digger. Guys, don;t you think so?


In exchange for the treat, I treat him for sushi. He's getting more and more addicted to sushi lately so I decided brought him to Sushi Zanmai. I heard lots of compliment relating to this sushi restaurant - great services, more variety and better than Sushi King.

We did ordered a lot but I only snap those unusual sushi which not seems in other Sushi restaurant.

I would definitely love to visit Sushi Zanmai again before going back to my beloved KK hometown.

Chung Tai Chan Monastery, Taiwan

Chung Tai Chan Monastery is the headquarter for the Zen Buddhist organisation that includes several monasteries and meditation centers, not only in Taiwan but also around the world. The construction of this building is combination of both Chinese and Western architecture and surprisingly the architect who in charged of the design is the one who design the world's tallest building, Taipei 101.

This is one and only part of the main building that open to public.

Located on the second floor is the Great Main Hall where you can see a huge statue of "Gautama Buddha".

This hall is known as "Hall of the Four Heavenly Kings" but I only able snap two which was inside the photo above.

Outside the building which located nearby the entrance, there is a stunning bridge known as "Golden Bridge" but unsure whether is it really made out of gold.

It's incredible. Even though it was winter season when I visited Taiwan, but looks at these flowers. They are blooming so huge and colourful too.

Forgive me for my never ending Taiwan tales and adventures. Wish to skip to my Korea trip but somehow waiting for the right time.

Featured in Malaysia Asia :D

Like every afternoon I have when there is no class, I will lay on my bed either reading comic books or can said being slacked. Then I saw I had notification from Facebook saying that I have message.

I am damn elated to receive message from David Jr, who is the blog owner of Malaysia Asia saying that I have been featured on his blog as "Malaysia Travel Blogger List".

It's totally out of my expectation and I never ever thought I will being featured in one of his list as I just currently changed my blog niche towards more on travel and trips.

Honestly to say that I can't claim myself to be one of the travel blogger that has "TRAVEL AROULD THE WORLD" because there are hundred of countries out there that I haven't left my foot prints on such as Australia, North America, South America and even Africa. Up to date, I had only visited 18 countries but hopefully more to come in future.
