Hong Kong & Macau 2012 (Sneak Peek)

For those who follow me in Twitter or Instagram, you might know that I went to Hong Kong & Macau with my boyfie for a week. Well, I went Hong Kong & Macau exactly 2 years ago (click here) and now once again, here I am at this vibrant and bustle little big city.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 01
This is my 4th trip to Hong Kong and wondering why I choose to go back there again?

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 19
It's all because Hong Kong is distributing HK$6,000 to all the Hong Kong Citizen and my boyfie is partly of Hongkie. So, he decided to tag me along and sponsored this trip as the treat of my birthday gift for this year.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 17
During this trip we had save a lot especially in terms of accommodation. We stayed at boyfie's relative place which located just less than half an hour from the city. It was indeed a small room but we're eternally grateful for all the kind hospitality given by boyfie's relatives.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 16
And also during our stayed with boyfie's relatives, almost every morning we're brought to have dim sum, the delicacies that you shouldn't miss out when visiting Hong Kong.

Since I went Hong Kong for 4th times and boyfie has been went Hong Kong like don't know how many times, some of the places we skipped like Ocean Park but for some I did repeated again. Some I went exactly for the first time - which I totally missed out from my previous trips.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 02
Went Stanley New Street for the first time but I felt like being fooled to come what a long way and bought things that in slightly higher price. Therefore, this place is totally not recommended.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 04
Took Peak Tram to visit The Peak for 3rd time. Went here just to kill some time by sat down in some random restaurant and having high tea. And also at the same time, to write 20 postcards which I bought from Stanley Market.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 05
Finally, got to experience Star Ferry for the fist time after listened to boyfie's story of his experience of taking this ferry ride to across from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon. Only cost HK$2.50 for almost 10 minutes ride.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 06
Macau for 2nd time to meet up with my BFF who was coincidentally in Hong Kong & Macau too for 10 days with her boyfriend.

 Hong Kong & Macau 2012 07
There's so many varieties and assorted of snow skin mooncake in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 08
The Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery in Lautau Island was actually inside my itinerary last 2 years but I cancelled this cause my friends were so tired and exhausted. Plus, at that period, the weather was freaking hot.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 09
We even did a lil bit shopping at CityGate Outlets which was being told by my friends that the stuffs especially the high end are super duper cheap.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 10
Walked like more than 20 minutes from MTR station just to take photo with Golden Bauhinia Square at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 11
Strolled along Avenue of Stars, Tsim Tsa Tsui for second time and the first time I went was at night time.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 18
Ladies' Street, Mongkok is the place that I went over and over again. Never get bored of here and this place is highly recommended than Stanley Street. So, whoever wanna visit Hong Kong, stay nearby Mongkok.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 13
Last but not least, Disneyland Hong Kong one more time again! The first time I went it was rain heavily but this time around the weather was so fine and the sky is so blue.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 14
My dream to stay in Disney's Hollywood Hotel finally came true.

Hong Kong & Macau 2012 15
Ok! That's all for my Hong Kong Style. I should do the Oppa Hong Kong style but I was too shy.

Whether will I go back Hong Kong again for the 5th time? Well, I have this love and hate relationship towards Hong Kong but probably I will, just not within this nearer period.

  2. The Golden Bauhinia Square was in my itinerary when I went to HK last year but due to some miscommunication, we ended up having to skip it. I doubt there is anything worth looking at other than taking photos but still. Next time, I would definitely go to Disneyland.

  11. Annapurna base camp trek

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is scenically the most spectacular trek we offer in the Annapurna region. The view of the range from Pokhara is the view that will tower above you from the base camp. It follows the course of the Modi Khola up the gorge cut by river from the Annapurna South glacier and leads to a spectacular basin whose walls are formed by the ring of glacial peaks of the main range with the dramatic Machhapuchhare on the right flank.

This Annapurna Base Camp trekking begins north of the central city of Pokhara which is reached by a 6-7 hour bus ride of a 20 minute flight from Kathmandu. It begins at the village of Nayapul at just 1090m (1½ hours drive from Pokhara) and climbs gradually up the Modi Khola Valley through natural forests of oak, rhododendron, pine and bamboo. Villages are sited on ridges high above the river where slopes are gentle enough for terraced farming.

The climax of the ABC trek is reached in the spectacular Annapurna Sanctuary amphitheatre where you will first pass the Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail) Base Camp (3700m) en route to ABC (4130m). Here you are surrounded by an immense and breathtaking wall of rock and ice reaching heights from 6500 – 8091m and dramatised by closer rocky outcrops rising above the U-shaped valley gouged out by glacier. Cloud frequently forms in the late morning making for enticing glimpses of an ever changing landscape: at sunrise it is frequently still and clear offering viewers / photographers a surfeit of possibilities.

The downward journey only requires two or three nights with one spent at Jhinu Danda for a visit to the hot springs. The last morning requires a short trek to Phedi and a half hour drive back to your hotel in Pokhara.

Spring (March - May) and autumn (September - November) are the most popular seasons, but we can offer this trek throughout the year;Teahouse accommodation is plentiful and a variety of Nepali, Tibetan, Indian and Continental dishes are readily available. This 7 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek is thus suitable for anyone who is moderately fit and adventurous. All you will need is a good pair of boots, warm clothing, a sleeping bag and your camera. Our trek includes all accommodation, meals, drinking water and Hot howers.

  12. Poon Hill trek is Nepal’s most popular easy-trek destination. It is situated north of the lake city of Pokhara and just below the mighty Annapurna Range in central Nepal. From this summit, at 3210m, over 60 peaks higher than 6000m can be seen at a glance: including the three giants of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m) and Manaslu (8163m) – ranked 7th, 10th and 8th of the world’s highest peaks. The sacred mountain of Machhapuchhare (the fish tail, 6997m) stands guard in front of the range.

Our circular 5 days Poon hill trek leads you through the Himalayan foothills on ancient paths linking ridge villages carved by the waters pouring from the glaciers above. Terraced farmland is interspersed with ancient forests of rhododendron, oak, maple, pine and bamboo. The peoples of this region have embraced tourism and always offer a warm welcome, clean accommodation and a variety of tasty dishes to satisfy both local and ‘foreign’ palates.
From Kathmandu, a 25m flight or a 6-7 hour bus ride takes you to Pokhara, a thriving commercial and industrial centre with a wide range of hotels and enticing shops. A short drive through the foothills takes you to the start of the trek at 1070m. Two fairly easy days of trekking lead to the large village of Ghorepani. An early morning climb to the summit of Poon Hill (3210m) should be rewarded by a magnificent sunrise highlighting the peaks to the north.
Two more days of walking, with plenty of chances to admire the mountains from different vantage points, lead to the second large village of Ghandruk. The route on the final day follows the major Modi Khola that carries melt water from the ring of peaks in the Annapurna Sanctuary that eventually pour into the Ganges River in India.
Spring (March - May) and autumn (September- November) are the most popular seasons, but we offer this trek throughout the year. All you need is a good pair of boots, a day pack, warm clothing, sleeping bag and camera. Our Poon hill trekking includes transport, accommodation, meals, drinking water and showers.
