Choosing the right accommodation is the most crucial part when planning for a trip, especially if you are very particular about certain aspects - like location, price, convenient, cleanliness and so on. Sames goes for our Bali trip where we need to pick the accommodation that suits our needs and preferences.

As usual, I will always volunteer myself to browse through and list down all the accommodations and let my friends to pick where they wanna stay and at the end, their favourite pick was this hotel - Jocs Boutique Hotel & Spa.

Bali Day 1: Arrived Bali, Warung Mak Jo, Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Uluwatu Temple & Seafood Dinner at Jimbaran Beach

Initially, this Bali trip of mine was supposed to be a reunion trip with my collegemates but at the end, I went with my university's housemate and my friend's sister instead. This is because my collegemates didn't manage to purchase the great deal during AirAsia's promotion whereas I managed to book it.  Despite only 3 of us going to Bali, I still continue with my flashpacking trip around this "Island of the Gods" together with my new toy - lil Santorini, my newly bought Sony Nex 5N at that moment.

Penang's Art Street, Wall Paintings & Steel Sculptures

Date of Visit: 15th & 16th September 2013

What attract both local and foreign visitors to visit Penang is to witness the delightful fusion of the East and West that rich in history and culture and also for its bewildering arrays of mouth-watering eats. That's what for my past trip but currently, what attract me the most was for its vibrant showcase of these unique and beautifully painted art street, wall paintings and steel sculpture across the heritage area of George Town city.

Thanks to London-trained Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic who started off of these amazing and creative ideas by painting these colourful murals within the inner city and later, his footsteps followed by the local artists and cartoonists which helped to generate awareness of the rich history of the streets. 

Playing hide and seek with these colourful art street and wall paintings was indeed very fun and fascinating but make sure to do some homework beforehand or the best suggestion, grab a map to know where the arts are in order to save time and also reduce the chances of missing out some of these art. We're lucky enough to meet some helpful and friendly local people who gave us maps while we're in the mode of hunting for these arts.

Old Penang Guesthouse

Another lodging review again!

During our visit to George Town, the capital of the Pearl of the Orient, Penang state, one of my best friends recommended to stay in this heritage guesthouse that combines the charm of Penang's yesteryears but equipped with modern amenities by the name of Old Penang Guesthouse. Strategically located in the heart of the oldest part of George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this guesthouse is a beautifully restored pre-war building and until now, it still retains much of its old world charm.

Tune Hotel LCCT Airport

Most of my readers were asking how's my stay in this Tune Hotel LCCT Airport? Since I am so lazy to start with my Bali travelogue, hence I choose to blog about this instead.

I never thought of staying in Tune Hotel LCCT Airport at all. I rather overnight in airport itself because most of the time when I browsed through the price of this hotel, it was kinda pricey and not worth as I will be only staying for few hours. But since I will be sharing with two of my friends (actually the maximum occupants are two) and coincidentally, there was 10% offer given, the total amount we paid for a night was RM150, including comfort package that comes with 24 hours air-conditioner and towels and also toiletries kit. So after doing the maths, each of us only had to pay RM50 - consider kinda cheap if share with friends instead of staying alone.

Foodie Friday: Sunny Hill Ice-Cream @ Kuching

Life is sweet when I have my ice-cream. I can't deny that my favourite dessert of all time would be ice-cream, besides pudding. So when I went back Kuching last few weeks, I kept telling my dad that I can miss out all those famous foods in Kuching but definitely not this one. I had this ice-cream number of times when I was young but ever since I went college, it's been ages I didn't have this and now I'm craving for more. Thank goodness my flight back to Kota Kinabalu was at night, and therefore we had spare time to visit this ice-cream parlour.

Cuti-Cuti Malaysia 2013: Kuching & Penang

The first two weekends of this month is like Cuti-Cuti Malaysia for me. I went Kuching on the first weekend to attend my cousin's wedding and for the following weekend, I went to Alor Setar & Penang for my very best friend's wedding. But of course, besides attending the wedding was my ultimate purpose, I also took this opportunity to stay for few more days to explore and wander around - especially for foods and street arts hunt in Penang.

I will not blog so details like I did for my other travelogues. Only focus on few main things which I think is worth to share throughout my trip to Kuching and Penang, such as:

Flying To Kedah For My BFF's Wedding

This is not my first time to Kedah as I've been here with my family during my secondary school time but for this round, it's my first time flying in to their one and only airport - Sultan Abdul Halim Airport. Went along with my two BFF (one from Miri and another one from Kampar) just to attend another BFF of ours for her special day - her wedding. 

Right after we landed at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport, my friend brought us for lunch. Food in Kedah is pretty cheap, compare to Kota Kinabalu.

The bride's mom baked these cookies as a doorgift to all the wedding guests. Talking about the effort, though.
