Sawatdee Phuket & Loveli Boutique Guesthouse

Date of Visit: 05th January 2012

My 2012 trip started by kicking off to Phuket together with my college besties in early of January. And of course, I need to fly all over from Kota Kinabalu to Kuala Lumpur before flying again to Phuket on the next day. Well, it's kinda tiring in the first place because we need to wake up as early as 3am in order to catch our 6am flight to Phuket but then, we were more thrilled and excited for this island and beach getaways.

Phuket Day 1 01
#1: Witness sunrise from hundred feet above the sea was breathtaking. I always requested for window seat.

#2: Adorable Thai Customs signboards

Once we came out from the arrival hall, I saw our guesthouse driver was holding a paper with my name written on it. He introduced himself as Lob and he was indeed a friendly and funny person. Drove all the way from airport to the guesthouse, he did told us lots of things and info about Phuket including the night market which only will be held on every Saturday and Sunday so we won't feel bored.

So after a ride for roughly less or more than 40 minutes, finally we arrived in front of our guesthouse. The name of the guesthouse we were staying throughout our visit in Phuket was Loveli Boutique Guesthouse, which located at central of Patong. I came across this lodging from a Malaysian blogger, J2Kfm who went Phuket earlier and after discussed with my besties, all of them agreed to book this guesthouse as we saw it received tons of positive feedback. Plus, it only requested for 10% deposit instead of paying full before check-in.

We were only allowed to check-in the room at 2pm and cause we arrived to early, we were approached by Andrew, a very friendly Briton who runs this guesthouse for some Phuket travel packages such as Phi Phi Island Day Trip, Simon Cabaret Show, Phuket FantaSea and more. Overall, I think the packages offered were affordable and without thinking any longer, immediately we bought few of the packages (will blog with more details in the next few posts). Plus, this also saved our time and energy instead of scouting around for all those packages.

#4: It's not only a guesthouse, they are also a travel agency that provide services from booking airticket, transportation to city tour.

#5: Family room with 4 single beds

One of the main reason which choose this guesthouse was because it can accommodated 4 of us in a room -each and every of us got our own single bed. It's been almost 3 years we didn't meet each other, therefore we need a room like this to catch up lots of things among each other.

#6: Nicely decorated on our bed

#7: Some part of the room's amenities and facilities

The guesthouse even offered broad range of amenities such as the satellite/cable TV, fridge, kettle, DVD player, universal adapter, cupboard with hanger, safety deposit box and even wooden towel rack that make us feeling so comfortable, like we were in our own home sweet home. And if at night feeling kinda lazy to hang out, there are tons of free DVDs available for borrowing at the lobby. Therefore, who say we need to stay in luxury resort to enjoy all these?

 #8: The bathroom

The only downside was the bathroom. Although it quite spacious, the cleanliness met our standard and almost all the basic toiletries were provided such as bath towel, shampoo, shower gel and hot water but it's overflow everytime we bath. Imagine four of us were sharing one bathroom and had to wait for 5-10 minutes before the other can use.

 #9: Perfect and excellent location

Despite the bad water system in the bathroom, nothing beat the best when comes to the location of this guesthouse. First, there's a 7-11 convenience store located right just beside the guesthouse. Oh boy! Not just in Taiwan, Japan & Korea, I love the Thai's 7-11 stores cause they have so many kinds of foods to choose from at anytime you want. Most of the time, we bought our breakfast from there. Second, there's a shopping mall by the name of Jungceylon is located 2-3 minutes away. Even the bustling Bangla street and famous Patong beach is just 10-15 minutes walk.

#10: Recommended on Tripadvisor

For the price we paid, it's really worth for every penny we spent and definitely one of the defining experiences to stay in this guesthouse. Delivering tip top services to each and every of their guest house, no wonder this guesthouse is always fully booked regardless whether is peak or non-peak season. Loveli Boutique Guesthouse is indeed one lovely lodging to stay when in Phuket without hurting your wallet.

So if you are interested to stay in Loveli Boutique Guesthouse, hurry up make the reservation cause their rooms are kinda limited. Here is the official website - http://www.loveliguesthousephuket.com/index.html

NOTE: Just when I wanna begin to blog about Phuket, this reminds me of recent heartwrecking movie I watched last Sunday, "The Impossible".  Definitely one of the best movie you shouldn't miss out this year. I was crying like hell throughout the movie

  1. Your small note was the one that truly caught my attention. I watched it last month and it was so hard to sit through the movie since the tsunami happened so near to us. It was heart-wrenching and to see those people suffering, it was unbearable. Definitely one of the best movies I watched.

On the guesthouse, is it worth it? What is the rate?
